The positive aspects of the current all-Wales approach

It’s good this has been recognised and that the approach is more comprehensive than that in England

The negative aspects of the current all-Wales approach

The Towy is very badly damaged by slurry spreading, carried out intentionally and illegally just before heavy rain. This is never enforced or prosecuted. The NFU and Farmers in general cannot be trusted to "self-enforce". Past evidence proves this. Slurry, Cattle poaching AND Nitrogen fertilizers must be taken in to account.

The process for developing the current approach

These measures MUST be brought in as soon as possible, fisheries and wild life is being wiped out in Rivers like the Wye and the Towy. Stock cannot be re-introduced after the problems are solved as many fish ( Salmon, Sewin, Shad, Lampreys ) are genetically adapted to the river they are born in.

Historically introductions and re-stocking do not fare well.

Once the stock is gone - it is gone!
